We won!!
Good morning ladies,
We won our first volleyball game of the season! Unfortunately, the other team wasn't very good but hey, it is still a win! None of us are all that good either, but we all try hard and it is a lot of fun. My whole body is sore today from the last few days of working out. I definitely pushed myself hard and my body is telling me that it's working.
My boyfriend made us a very healthy meal last night. Tilapia and a big kale/spinach salad. We also had a 1/2 baguette which we dipped in some spicy oil. It was really nice. I was a bit hungry before volleyball but decided against snacking and was happy with my decision.
Today should be a short day at work. We have Monday off as a holiday, so we are having a lunch meeting and then we all expect our Chief of Staff to let us leave soon after. I need to go to the mall and pick up a present for my best friend and then I'll head home. I'm trying to convince my bf that we should drive 2hrs to watch his son play t-ball tonight. 2 hrs isn't that bad, except an hour later we will jump in the car and drive another 2 hours. We will see what he says, otherwise we are meeting his ex and Caleb at 7:30pm about an hour from here.

Feeling good
Good morning ladies,
It is totally unreal the feeling of peace and happiness that working out brings me. I cannot believe it took me so long to get in to this routine, but now that I am in it, I don't ever plan to break it. Yes, it is extremely hard at times and by the end of a Jillian Michael's Body Shred class at 7:30am, you want to quit and take a break, but pushing through the tough moments is so rewarding, not only physically, but mentally. I went to the gym last night with a friend of mine who at one time was my best friend (let's call her S). Over the years we drifted apart, but I feel like we are on the right track to becoming close again. My two current best friends (A and H), one of which (H) I wouldn't really consider a best friend anymore, can be extremely judgmental. I don't know about you, but I'm 27 years old and am SO over feeling judged or having people question my decisions. S wrote me a text reminding me that when we were really close we always just 'got each other' and there was no judging and my goodness I miss that. I am making a decision to pro-actively work on my friendship with S because I only want positive people in my life. Life is too short to be worrying about what your 'best' friend is thinking about you.
S and I went to the gym last night too. We did the stair climber and weights. I could feel it a bit when I woke up, but once we got going in our Body Shred class this morning and I took the heavier weights thinking I was a champ, I could then really feel last night's workout. I may even go for a walk at lunch today if the weather is nice.
Tonight I have volleyball and know without a doubt that I will be very sore tomorrow from all the arm exercises and volleyball.
Last night we went for dinner with my dad. I have mentioned in the past that I don't have a great relationship with my dad and my new years resolution was to work on it. I must admit, I've been slacking. The first few months of the year I was very much in to it, but as soon as my life got busy, it was the first thing to slip. I need to get that back on track. My dad suggested last night that we put together a questionnaire that everyone in the family can fill out about themselves. It sounds corny, but I think it is a great idea. My dad mentioned that when his parents passed away, he still had many questions for them, even something as simple as what their favourite colour was. I'm going to try and find a few questionnaires online today and put something together.

Crazy busy week
Good morning ladies,
What an insanely busy week. I didn't get to run after work yesterday because I had to meet up with the bridesmaids to work on the glasses for the bachelorette party. They turned out awesome!! I should have taken a photo but I forgot. We also bought a bunch of tank tops for one of the days of the trip. They are black and say "You Only Live Once" on the front and the brides tank top is pink and we are going to stencil 'Bride" on there. We aren't wearing matching outfits to go out at night but we will make the Bride wear a sash or something.
Tonight after work I'm heading to the gym to do the stair climber and weights then off to dinner with my dad and bf.

Tomorrow night I start my volleyball season, very excited!!

I don't mean to brag...
.. but I seriously have the best boyfriend ever!! He had yesterday off work and decided to clean the house from top to bottom. And I mean, like a serious, deep clean!! He went to the gym yesterday morning, then went to pick up cleaning supplies and a full load of groceries, and then he cleaned the house. Mopped the floors TWICE, cleaned the kitchen, bathroom, re-organized our storage room, did the laundry. OMG. I joke about how it turns me on, but I'm not joking. Not much sexier than a guy who takes charge and cleans the house, 1) because it makes him happy but 2) because he knows it makes me happy!! We have sex most nights anyways, but last night it was a given! lol
Tonight I have to get together with the bridesmaids to do some arts and crafts. We are making some glasses that we will use in Tremblant for the bachelorette party. Here is a picture of what we will be doing. We will be putting each girl's first initial on the glass. I think w have at least 25 people confirmed. My bestie is a popular lady! haha

Have an amazing day ladies. I'm happy, I got in a 30 minute run last night before girl's night. Felt awesome. I plan to run tonight before getting together with the ladies. Tomorrow I am heading to the gym after work before dinner with my dad and Thursday morning I'm going to another Jillian Michael's body shred class AND next week I'm doing a spinning class. I want to focus on working out 5 days a week and really stick to that as much as possible, especially when I am not travelling.

Weekend re-cap
126lbs (Not bad but really want to be closer to 120 and stay there!)
Good morning ladies,
Hope you all had a nice weekend. I got home from Calgary late Friday night, so that was a write-off. Just hung out with my hunnie and went to bed. Saturday morning my plan was to get up and run but the weather was nasty out and I just needed some extra sleep, so I stayed in bed for a bit. Then I headed off to my semi-annual hair appointment with my best friend (I'm so bad, I only get my hair cut twice a year, once in May and once in November). After that we went to Winners, then lunch, then DQ to grab some treats for my friend's mother-in-law, then we stopped by her parents house and then we chilled at her place for a bit. It was a really nice day with my best friend. We don't hang out that much just the two of us anymore, so it was a nice change.
Saturday night my bf and I went for dinner at a nice Greek restaurant. After dinner we went to a pub and met up with a friend that was visiting from out of town. My poor boyfriend had to be up at 5am the next day for work, but he was a good sport and came out with me to see my friend. It meant a lot to me. He is such an amazing man!!

Sunday was Mother's Day. My sister and I took my mom for brunch, it was really nice. My mom can be a bit tightly wound, but everything went really nicely. My mother is by far my best friend in the world but she is a bit of a negative nancy, which makes holidays a bit tense sometimes. She said no presents as long as we agreed to help with her garden, but we still got her a Chapter's gift card and a big potted plant. She was really surprised and happy.
We are cat-sitting my mom's cat because she traveled all last week for work and left again yesterday for another week. Daisy was initially not very happy to be at our place, but now her and Charlie are constantly playing. I think she is going to be sad when she leaves. Here's a cute picture of her curled up between my legs.
Here is a picture from this morning. For the most part I'm happy with my body but I still feel like my legs are big and my arms could be more toned. I'm excited to work out today. I find I get down on myself when I'm not staying active and this past week I didn't workout as much as I'd like. I really need to stay focused and get back in to working out 5 days a week, not only is it good for my body but it is needed mentally!!
