  • Pay it forward tenfold

    Good morning ladies,

I explained yesterday that I was determined to purchase some patio furniture this week and last night it all worked out. No seriously, the stars were aligned and someone was looking out for me. I  have to apologize for the length of this one story, but it was truly amazing so I must share in detail.

It started yesterday morning when I called Canadian Tire to make sure the table and chairs that I wanted were in stock. The man on the phone explained there was one table left but tons of chairs. I asked that the table and four chairs be put aside for me and that I would come by after work to get it. I arrived at Canadian Tire. The woman at the customer service counter found the note with my order and called to the warehouse for them to bring it to the front. 10 or so minutes go by and I hear back over the radio that they have found the table. Phew, the table was my main concern. Then they start paging back and forth that they cannot find the chairs, but they continue to look. All in all, I waited a minimum of 30 minutes for them to find everything and bring it to the front. There was a younger guy who was being incredibly helpful and told me he would help me put it in my car. I explained that I wasn't sure everything was going to fit, but we would try and whatever didn't fit, I'd come back and get later. I finally pay for everything, pull my car up to the front and this is when things got interesting. It only took a few minutes to get the table in but the chairs were going to prove much more difficult as they were each a solid piece, ie. they didn't fold or anything. An older gentleman that had just exited Canadian Tire kindly asked where I lived because he had an SUV and if I lived nearby he was going to throw the chairs in his car and drop them off for me. I was so taken back that a complete stranger would offer this. Unfortunately. I was shopping in literally the opposite end of town from my house because it was Monday Girl's Night. The man then tried to help direct the guys from the store on how to get the chairs in the car, but it really just wasn't working. He then said that we could have them sticking out of my trunk and secure it with a bungee cord. I was about to head inside to buy one when he said no no, I have a rope in my car, just wait here. He came back and spent 10-15 minutes tightly securing the chairs and my trunk. He even walked me through it step by step in case I ever had to do it again. While he was helping me do this, two other people (a woman and a man separately) came over and asked where I lived because they were willing to help me out too. I seriously couldn't believe it. The man that gave me the rope and secured my trunk was doing this out of the goodness of his heart. I kept saying thank you because I was in awe and all he said was "be sure to pay this forward".  Those words are ringing in my head today and I intend to pay it forward many times over.

I made it home safely after girl's night. The man clearly knew what he was doing because I had a 30 minute drive home and nothing even budged. The best feeling was surprising my boyfriend. I had messaged him from girl's night to say "make sure you are still awake when I get home around 9:30 because I have a surprise for you". I unloaded the chairs myself and carried them to the patio. My kitten peaked through the curtains and saw me, so he started to meow which made my bf get up to see  why he was making noise. He saw the chairs and came out to the car to help me. He grabbed me and kissed me and told me how cute I was for doing this. We unloaded everything and then sat out on the patio for a while just talking. It was seriously the perfect ending to a great day.

I took some quick pictures of the chairs on my way out the door this morning. Charlie was sitting at the window watching me leave.

So I'm again very focused on losing at least 5 pounds. My weight this morning was 123, so it is still a bit up from the weekend. My goal is to see 117lbs before June 1st. My plan is to continue eating often throughout the day, drink tons of water, watch my carb intake (I don't want to eliminate carbs as that isn't realistic for me, but really be conscious of the amount of carbs I eat) eat lots of fruits and veggies and also add some dairy such as yogurt and cottage cheese, be careful of snacking after dinner and the list goes on. Below is a picture from this morning. Don't mind my messy bathroom. My arms are decently small but I could definitely lose some inches around my hips and upper thighs. I also want to flatten my lower stomach.

    Today's Intake:

    B- Coffee + an egg + 1/2 grapefruit [X]

    S- Baby carrots [X]

L- Salad with deli turkey meat + 1/2 orange pepper + minimal low cal greek feta dressing [X]

    S- 1 teaspoon of peanut butter + a banana [X]

    D- Left-over shawarma [  ]

Have an amazing day ladies. Sorry my incredibly long post. If you make it to the end, good on ya! xo

Instead of cutting carbs, working out would give you the results you want! Even though cutting carbs (even just a little bit) seems effective, carbs are what your body uses for energy and brain power and you don't want to take your bodys energy source away.
That was very kind of those people, very nice to know there are amazing people in this world :)

@britswim - I totally agree. I definitely need to up my working out. I just never find I stick with it. I start playing soccer once a week this coming weekend, but that is clearly not enough. I enjoy the gym and always feel great when I go, but after working 7:30am to 6pm, I really lack the motivation. I hope that can change. Thank you! xo

You look great! That guy was really sweet to help you- it sounds like yesterday was an amazing day. I hope today treats you as kindly :)

the kindness of some people is so amazing. that is so touching- what a perfect day =]

like i said you look fantastic! i really don't see the inches on your hips and thighs. i mean come on you have an inner thigh gap already!! you really do look amazing. I totally agree with britt about the work outs. Working out would give you some more muscle which in the end may make the scale read a tiny bit higher but i really think it would give you more the results your looking for. Don't forget were all here to motivate you!! good luck!

aw what a great day :) it's always nice when it's reinforced that there are good people in the world rather than all the bad stuff we hear about on the news :)

@who_said_nights_were_for_sleep - Aww thank you so much!! xo

@xxrunningamuckXx - Thank you!! The more and more I think about it, the more I want to get in to running. I feel like running is something you can always do, no matter where you are and you don't need a membership of any kind. My boyfriend will now be working shift work which will give me many evenings to myself. I find it hard to workout when I'd rather snuggle with the bf on the couch and that isn't a great excuse but I work insane hours at work so my evenings are precious (not that this isn't the same for everyone, but it definitely hurts my motivation). Thanks for the motivation, I appreciate it!

@isitreal_no - I was seriously amazing with everyone's generosity to a complete stranger.
